So I have been busy this year. With the Corona virus Pandemic, lots of charities were struggling for funds to keep going. To do my bit I offered a pet portrait as a prize for two charities. Bart's Legacy Cat Sanctuary and The Yorkshire Cat Rescue. The winner for Bart's was Bex
That led to another person donating money and getting a portrait of her grumpy cat, Rosie.
and I have just done Sugar for the winner of the Yorkshire Car Rescue Raffle...
She was a cutie with her little pink tongue sticking out! So some money raised for charities in these uncertain times.....
This is Alfie. He was a six dinners Sid sort of cat. He visited our house most days to partake in some biscuits and a snooze in a comfy spot. More than once he was accidentally locked in with our three and spent the night here, rising with the rest for breakfast and ready to stretch his legs outside. Our three cats didn't mind him he was one of the pride. I knew where he lived (in the next drive down the hill) and kept his owner up to date if he was out all night. Unfortunately he was hit by a car and killed two weeks ago. I was really upset, I had grown fond of the cheeky little fella. I did this painting from a photo of him I took when he was upset I was closing the cat-flap one evening-the cafe was closed. I found out later he lived with two other cats that bullied him so maybe that is why he liked popping to ours. RIP Alfie.
It has been a very very long time since I last updated this blog. I am trying very hard to keep lots of balls in the air! here are two paintings I did for some friends, of their dogs (see blog post here.)
I have been very busy...honest! I had 2 commissions and one prize to paint. The prize was the lovely (sometimes naughty) Gizmo for Simone who won my give away way back in February!
Then there was a commission for a christening gift for a work colleague
and last but certainly not least was Bertie a lovely little character painted for Jo.
I am on half term this coming week and plan to finish a watercolour of this fine looking doggie.
Sammy
As you can see his owner sent a lovely clear photo and I am looking forward to working with it. He is the raffle winner from the Saving Rare Breeds Summer Raffle. Do pop over and give them your support.
